"Recently ViaCord was acquired by PerkinElmer. As with most situations such as this, there was an immediate need to create and run a pilot a training program that would include both sales forces from ViaCord and NTD (another PerkinElmer company). Additionally, the time allotted for out of the field training was limited to 3 days.
Adding complexity to the situation, the content leaders for NTD are located in Turku, Finland, while the ViaCord content leaders are in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Not only were we facing a significant time difference but we were also facing challenges in being able to practice prior to the live meeting.
Fortunately we were able to uncover the benefits of Brainshark. We decided to build three webcasts that would provide participants much of the information prior to the live meeting. These presentations were rolled out on a schedule so that participants could view them at their convenience within the time block versus having to be on a live conference call yet being on mute the entire time. Additionally, we added knowledge check questions at the end of each presentation to ensure everyones understanding was calibrated. This approach allowed us to focus exclusively on knowledge application during the live meeting, which easily fit within the allotted time. Brainshark also allowed us to have the best experts narrate the presentations no matter where their location happened to be. One such expert was located in Turku and was able to narrate at the time that was best for her without needing Cambridge involvement. Although it was her first time using Brainshark, she was able to follow the simple instructions and complete the program without any troubles.
We collected feedback following the program and were stunned to learn that 90.5% of participants found Brainshark easy to use even though it was their first time. Plus, the comments about the opportunity to learn this way were overwhelming! They included:

In a recent campaign, our company was attempting to drive market awareness for an emerging element of our go to market strategy....protection and management of Windows environments. In partnership with Symantec, we targeted over 900 companies in an effort to identify those who were dealing with ongoing challenges with managing their Windows IT infrastructure. Brainshark has been a great tool that I now use to communicate with one of my largest customers. Before creating a Brainshark presentation to send to new users within this company, I was wasting hours every week on the phone answering the same questions and telling my customers the same exact information over and over. I had it so rehearsed in my mind, I often joked that I could go through my presentation while driving down the road and my customers thought I was in front of my computer walking them through step by step.
