Brainshark Reports Another Record Year in 2006

Leading SaaS Provider Posts Record Growth and Customer, Product, and Service Achievements

Waltham, MA - February 21, 2007

Brainshark, Inc., the leader in on-demand communications that enable marketing and sales effectiveness, today announced it has achieved a number of significant milestones during 2006 including record revenue growth.

Companies Embrace Richer, On Demand Communications

As companies rapidly adopted Brainshark to communicate with employees, customers, prospects, and partners; audiences demonstrated their acceptance of this highly effective and convenient form of communications. The company's sales grew by 52% last year. Customers created more than 56,000 new presentations, and their audiences spent more than 28 million minutes viewing Brainshark-delivered content. Today more than 500 enterprise customers are using Brainshark solutions.

"2006 was a year of tremendous growth. We are proud to have met every goal we set for ourselves, and are prepared for even greater success in 2007," said Joe Gustafson, CEO and Founder. "The very foundation for our company is to empower businesspeople to quickly and easily create and deliver rich content. As Web 2.0 and user-generated content gained media attention during the year, we saw these trends gain momentum within the corporate sector with companies empowering subject-matter experts to deliver and share information in rich, engaging formats that are accessible anywhere, anytime, on any device."

Brainshark Demonstrates Product Leadership in On-Demand Communications The company released 2 major version releases during the year, including new modules and capabilities such as:

  • a Content Approval Module to help companies deliver consistent, high quality communications;
  • one-click Podcast creation and the ability to view Brainshark-delivered content on mobile devices;
  • text-to-speech capability to generate voice-enriched presentations from slide notes;
  • enhanced integration with CRM systems, such as Brainshark for Salesforce.com AppExchange, that allows salespeople to deliver more powerful and personal communications in the sales process and gain immediate insight into prospect response;
  • and numerous other enhancements.

Delivering Customer Value and SaaS Excellence

Brainshark customers realized rapid ROI including increased product revenues, shortened ramp up time of new hires, and increases in the quantity and quality of sales leads. In 2006 Brainshark customers shared these stories and more with other users and Brainshark experts as part of a multi-city customer event series. The company also launched Customer Connection Online; a new resource site and community forum that enables customers to access tips and tutorials, and to share experiences with other users within moderated discussion forums.

Planning for continued strong customer growth in the coming years, Brainshark invested an additional $1 million in its hosting infrastructure to increase scalability and performance. Today, the hosting infrastructure that supports its Software-as-a-Service business model is equipped to support many times the current demands on the system.
